Aim of Strategy
The club takes control of noise from shooting seriously. Our aim is to obtain a balance between our wish to enjoy our chosen past time and the wishes of others to enjoy the surrounding area peacefully.
Club Affiliation
The club is affiliated to the Ulster Clay Pigeon Shooting Association. The UCSPA has approved the grounds to hold registered events.
Club Regulation
Activities at the ground are regulated by the Ulster Clay Pigeon Shooting Association and the PSNI.
Ground Approval
The Club operates under the Town and Country Planning Order 1995. This allows the club to hold 28 events per calendar year.
Noise Control Measures
Use of noise barriers
Earthworks at the site are used for noise attenuation.
Timing
Shooting at the ground is restricted on a voluntary basis to
Saturdays 10:30 – 16:00
Monday 19:00 – 21:00 ( May day to Mid August)
There is no Sunday shooting.
Course Planning
The layout and orientation of each shoot is carefully planned to minimise noise impact.
Liaison with the public
This strategy and website are aimed to increase public awareness of our activities.
Restriction of Shooting Stands
On all but 3 Saturdays per year, the ground will only contain 5 shooting stands.
